East Dunbartonshire house prices dropped slightly in December
House prices dropped slightly, by 0.3%, in East Dunbartonshire in December, new figures show.
But the drop does not reverse the longer-term trend, which has seen property prices in the area grow by 4.5% over the last year.

Hide AdThe average East Dunbartonshire house price in December was £271,752, Land Registry figures show – a 0.3% decrease on November.
Over the month, the picture was different to that across Scotland, where prices decreased 0.9%, but East Dunbartonshire was lower than the 0.1% rise for the UK as a whole.
Over the last year, the average sale price of property in East Dunbartonshire rose by £12,000 – putting the area fifth among Scotland’s 32 local authorities with price data for annual growth.
The highest annual growth in the region was in Na h-Eileanan Siar, where property prices increased on average by 14.3%, to £175,000. At the other end of the scale, properties in the Shetland Islands lost 18% of their value, giving an average price of £173,000.

First-time buyers in East Dunbartonshire spent an average of £199,800 on their property – £7,700 more than a year ago, and £44,100 more than in December 2018.
By comparison, former owner-occupiers paid £325,200 on average in December – 62.7% more than first-time buyers.

Owners of detached houses saw the biggest fall in property prices in East Dunbartonshire in December – they dropped 0.4% in price, to £492,373 on average. But over the last year, prices rose by 5.3%.
