Kelly’s creation impresses judges
Kelly Marie’s creation wowed the judges as part of an annual campaign linked to Empowered, the East Dunbartonshire Multi Agency Partnership to protect women in the area.
Entrants were invited to design the front cover for Empowered’s new strategy and action plan.

Its main aim was to highlight the issue of violence against women and to ultimately prevent it.
The 19-year-old’s winning image will now take pride of place on the front cover of Empowered’s local strategy booklet.
The new booklet will be produced next year.
Kelly Marie was presented with her prize at the 16 days of Action closing event held in Hillhead Community Centre.

In addition, Empowered are also looking at a new and innovative resource or marketing tool which has a violence against women prevention theme.
It is hoped it can be used by Empowered with the partnership as well as individual agencies.
This might be a leaflet looking at healthy relationships, a DVD looking at gender stereotyping or a school lesson plan looking at teen abuse.
