SNP landslide in Cumbernauld consituency
Labour’s 2010 majority of almost 14,000 disappeared in a crushing 36 per cent swing to the SNP as voter turnout also increased from 64 per cent to just under 74 per cent.
Mr McDonald (38), lives in Milton of Campsie and is a former solicitor.

There was a clean sweep of SNP wins at all four counts at Ravenscraig, as the former heartland of North Lanarkshire, which also voted in favour of independence in September’s referendum, rejected the Unionist party Scottish Labour.
